Our Vision
The ministry of The Servant’s Heart begins by building relationships, one person at a time, through spiritual and human care, by providing academic education, health care and economic development with the assistance of volunteers.
The Servant’s Heart is a growing urban community of believers in Christ that form a body of disciples who reach out as a living Gospel to their community. We are called to serve the poorest, most impoverished people of the world’s cities to the ultimate end of training teams of indigenous leaders who will reproduce Christ-centered communities.
Our ministry currently reaches those found in Guatemala City and Amatitlan in Guatemala. Click on the links to the right to learn more about these ministry sites.
Believing God’s word in Jeremiah 29:11, The Servant’s Heart was founded in 1992 as an urban holistic and developmental ministry to serve the poorest of the poor in urban areas.
Since then, God has been using our hands and hearts to love the people of the dump, to share the hope of his word, to provide for their basic needs such as food, clothing, and medicine, to offer academic education to increasing numbers of children, teens, and adults every year, and to train in vocational skills such as sewing, carpentry, metal work, and other marketable crafts.
We believe that through developing relationships with these disenfranchised, we will see lives transformed, families reintegrated, and neighborhoods and communities renewed.
We continue to daily develop and improve our programs to better serve the people God brings into the refuge that is “The Servant’s Heart.”
